A 10 acre land at Goonipalayam village 70 km off Chennai at Thiruvallur district Tamil nadu is the focus of attention. It was a dry land almost abandoned due to drought conditions when work on it was taken up 10 years back.

This land with consistent hard work has blossomed into a prospective and promising green land .

The land now houses a -

 1. GOSHALA -with 30 desi cows .

 2. THREE PONDS to store rainwater.

 3. A BORE WELL which yields water at 800 ft very frugally

 4. 3 ACRES of cultivable land.

 5. A NAKSATHRA VAN & RASI VAN & A PANCHAVADI for worship

  6. DRIP IRRIGATION SYSTEM

  7. NEARLY 1000 FOREST, HERBAL & FRUIT trees planted.

   8. A ONE AND HALF KM road made for                      walking/cycling/motorable

The vision of this PARVATHI FARMS is to showcase how a dry land can be converted to a green verdant area and to show the role of Desi cow in sustainable maintenance of farm and environment.

This kind of vision requires funding and public participation to make it a success.

The further vision is to make it open to public and school children for EDUCATION & ENVIRONMENTAL TOURISM.

BUDGET-

One lakh Rs a month is spent on monthly maintenance,

This includes labour charges

Fodder and chara for the cows

Electricity and other sundry charges.

Further for infrastructural development like making roads, digging ponds , laying drip irrigation lines, planting trees, dwelling for workers a constant outflow of funds is incurred.

Any help from public for this sacred mission of growing divine plants, taking care of gomatha will go a long way in inviting people and children to see the land and make it a educational showcase for children and public.

Sending the photos of the land in a seperate folder.
